My last meal in Lyon was in this quaint little restaurant along Rue Victor Hugo – Brasserie Le 1900. It wasn’t chosen out of anything extraordinary, I’ve decided to eat there as it was the first decent-looking restaurant that I could find from my hotel. I didn’t want to walk any further so I just grabbed the first seat I could find on their outdoor area. I asked the waiter what’s their special for the day, he then gave me a list and explained each meals to me in detail. When he mentioned pork in one of their specials, I told him that that’s what I’m going to have regardless of how it’s cooked or what it comes with. It was my last meal in Lyon, in France, in Europe. Then I will soon land in Dubai where pork is a rare meal. Image may be NSFW.

The restaurant was busy as it was a lunch time when I went there. Almost all of the tables were occupied and I was somehow amazed by how quick the service was. In no time, the dish below was served on my table by the very friendly waiter:

It was great! I’m not really sure if I just don’t have much options when it comes to pork dishes in Dubai but the way they cooked the meat was just different for my taste. And that potato salad! Oh wow! It was the very same potato salad that I had in Le Petit Glouton, another Lyon restaurant. It’s basically baked or boiled potato I guess with creamy white sauce on top of it. That was a great way to end my trip.

I went back to my hotel to grab my suitcase after the meal then walked towards Perache station to catch my train going to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. This was the last photo I took of Lyon, the Perache station.
