The recent business trip that I’ve had, I was upgraded to a business class seat by Emirates Airline. I was ecstatic and couldn’t hold my excitement to myself knowing that the flight that I’m taking is operated by an A380 aircraft. If you’re a frequent traveler or working in the travel industry you’ll know that being upgraded to an A380′s business class only means one thing: LUXURY.
The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner. It is the world’s largest passenger airliner; many airports have upgraded their facilities to accommodate it because of its size.
So there I was, walking into the business class cabin trying very hard to blend in – pretending that “I belong” but deep inside my heart was jumping up and down. LOL. I started taking photos of course but very discreetly as I didn’t want to be kicked out of that cabin. Hahaha.
I was one of the first few business class passengers who went inside the plane as soon as the ground crew announced that the flight was ready for boarding. I normally am the last one to go inside the plane but this time, I wanted to make the most out of this experience. Seriously, the ridiculousness of what I was feeling/thinking at the time is beyond your imagination. I felt like a kid going into Disneyland for the first time. :p
As soon as I’ve located my window seat, I of course started pushing buttons. That little screen on the table is the remote control for everything that you have in your seat. I tried to give myself a massage and I tried to convert my seat to a flat bed. Thinking about it now, I do look pretty stupid at that time. LOL.
Then I was asked by the very friendly and attentive cabin crew what I wanted for a welcome drink, I asked for a glass of champagne.
Then they started handing out the toiletries pouch which of course is a Bulgari.
When the plane finally took off and the seatbelt light was turned off, I fixed myself a drink from my very own seat.
Then dinner came. I chose to have the seafood option, unfortunately, I can’t remember what my main course was.
After dinner, I watched some movies from the broad list that they have and then took a nap. I love how the seat can be turned into a fully flat bed and how it gives you total privacy.
When I woke up, I went to the bar. Yes, they do have a bar. Surprisingly, there were quite a few passengers lounging around and having a drink. It’s really funny if you think about it. You are thousands of feet in the sky, inside a flying capsule and there you are, having a drink at a bar. How crazy is that?
I stole some nuts and went back to my seat after a few drinks. I watched some more movies, took another quick nap and then the pilot announced that we are starting our descent to our destination. It was really a fun experience and the most comfortable flight I’ve ever taken.
If you’ve got the money to spend, you must take a business class seat in an A380 flight. It’s all worth it, trust me. This is why I love working for my company. I get to experience or see things/places that I will not be able to afford (right now). :p If only I will get an upgrade to First class next time….. LOL.
