Trevi Fountain or Fontana di Trevi is probably the most famous fountain in the world, well at least for me and for the rest of the people you will see flocked in this fountain at any given time of the day. I have only been to Rome twice, the first one was during April and the second one was during November. Both times though, it’s the same number of crowd in this area which makes it quite hard to take a photo of it.
The beauty of this fountain is truly enigmatic though, specially at night. The details of the sculpture around it and massiveness of the fountain will leave you in awe. It’s good to just sit there for quite some time with your gelato in hand and just admire the details, of course this is also a good spot for people-watching – my favorite hobby. Souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants are abundant in this area. Put it in mind though that since it’s one of the famous tourist spots of Rome, the prices will also be for tourists.
Do throw a coin into the fountain, legend has it that it’ll guarantee your return to Rome. I did the first time and went back 4 years after. So yes, in my case it’s true. You have to do it the right way though, throw the coin with your right hand over your left shoulder.
