I’ve Got The Travel Bug

I haven’t been blogging lately because it’s been a so-so week for me here in Dubai. It’s still hot and humid. So humid that last night, I left the kitchen window open when I took a shower and when I came back – every single thing/space on the kitchen was wet with moist. It’s like my whole kitchen was sweating, literally. The cabinets, the countertop, the fridge, the stove – everything! Which is the reason why I’m so lazy to go out these days and I have spent most of my day off inside the house curled up on my bed watching a movie or sleeping. Yes, laziness at its peak.

I want this pillow!!!

I want this pillow!!!

Anyway, for the past few days all I can think about is my vacation which is so close from now – I can almost taste/feel/see/hear/smell it. You know the feeling? It’s when you feel butterflies in your stomach fluttering like crazy it makes me want to vomit a little. Some people call it the travel bug, it’s the feeling of restlessness to travel and discover a new place. I have seen all the documentaries that I can find about the places we’re going to visit. I have read every single tripadvisor reviews about the things that we will do. I have seen all the gorgeous photos taken by people who recently went to these places, I’ve seen videos, I’ve read blogs – I just can’t wait any longer. Can someone press the fast-forward button please?

I bought one of my travel essentials earlier – a good book. Well, in my case – books. LOL

I was actually looking for a travel-related novel but could only find The Last Dance by Victoria Hislop. It’s a compilation of short stories with settings mainly in Greece. The other two were Lonely Planet’s Travel Stories which of course is also good but I would’ve traded it with a novel – be it fiction or non-fiction. Can you recommend anything to me? Do you have any particular favorites? I was looking for the book “A Thousand Days in Tuscany by Marlena de Blasi” but couldn’t find it at the bookstore I went to earlier. I’m not even sure if we have it here in Dubai. Would also love to get a copy of “Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter” and “Without Reservations by Alice Steinbach”. Well, the birthday is coming up so I’ll probably put those on the wish list. LOL.

Right, I’m off. I leave you now with a photo of my first destination of my 3-week long vacation:

Can you guess where it is?

Can you guess where it is?
